Because I hadn't been to the mountains in quite a while and my cousin was quite keen on nature photography, we squeezed in a hiking trip right before my departure for France.
Both days, we had to cope with lots of snow. The crowds were minimal, however, and the scenery quite different from previous trips. On the day we arrived, we tried to go to Vernal Falls in the afternoon, but were deterred by poor light and ice. The next day, we made it more than halfway up the Yosemite Falls trail, past lower Yosemite Falls, before turning back. I was using my new digital camera (Canon PowerShot G5). Unfortunately, my attempts at using Aperature Priority mode meant that most of the pictures didn't turn out too well. Problems with blown out highlights (clouds, snow) were particularly acute.
